Building renovation contractor Balham London SW12

Nationcare Windows Ltd, property services division won the contract to refurbish the old Victorian building block of Chestnut Grove school in Balham London SW12.

The school building renovation project, scheduled to take approximately 17 weeks, starting in August 2012.

The old school building gets a new roof, 'A' rated replacement double glazed windows, new doors and the brick work re-pointed.

 Internal renovations and improvements include: Insulation, damp proofing, new heating system, re-wiring, plumbing. plastering and decorating.

Asbestos discovered extensively throughout the building !

Immediate action taken to seal asbestos before work begins to remove asbestos professionally.

Temporary classrooms supplied

Foundations laid and electricity supply for temporary classrooms installed. A mobile crane hired and closed Chestnut Grove road Sunday 2nd September to take delivery of four two story Portakabins. Now ready for the start of new term in September !

October 2012

The school building refurbishment and renovation is going very well, most of the re-wiring and plumbing now completed.

Two modern condensing boilers have been installed in the plant room with new pipes, valves and fully insulated.  

Plastering, dry lining and decorating continues with floors being cleaned up and prepared for carpet or sanding.

On the outside; most of the old sash windows replaced with double glazed windows and the roof retiled, guttering, soffit and facia boards installed. The external brickwork is being repaired and re-pointed.

We estimate the project should take approximately six weeks to complete.

December 2012

The renovation and refurbishment of this lovely old Victorian school building is close to completion.

The roof section and windows have all been signed off and the scaffolding is taken down.

All that remains to be done now is decorating, cleaning up, carpets and new flooring fitted and polishing up the original wooden floors.

Electrical services in the basement plant room are being installed in a specially prepared tanked room.

On the outside some external doors need to be fitted, windows finished, service hatched installed and a final clean up.

January 2013

The old School building work is now complete.

Delighted with the outcome, the client has moved back in and the school building is ready for the start of term.
